While walking around town during the holidays I happened on two magnificent creative store windows that made my heart skip a beat. Both were done by the stationery and paper store Papyrus, which must have some wickedly talented paper artists on their roster.
The first window, above, was spotted in Pasadena. This gorgeous pleated dress was created out of deep pink metallic paper that had a gold ornament design on it. The one-shoulder detail is phenomenal, as is the tiered hemline, and I love the ribbon waistband.
Here's a close-up of the bodice--can you even imagine pleating paper so perfectly??
I saw this dress in their Century City store window, and it stopped me dead in my tracks. I don't know which I love more--the full skirt made with rows of folded triangles, or the dimensional floral bodice.
Anyone who is a fan of the phenomenal work of artist Isabelle de Borchgrave will appreciate these lovely paper garments. I wish I could wear them!
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday, and here's to a great 2013!
